Volunteer Call Out...

Are you interested in promoting sustainable food in your local community?

Want to be part of a network of like-minded people?

Here at Nourish NI, we are working to ensure good, healthy food is available to everyone. By building and supporting a sustainable food movement in Northern Ireland and working towards a dramatic food system change that will make healthy and sustainable food a defining characteristic of Northern Ireland. We work with communities, organisations, policymakers and Government across Northern Ireland to create a food and farming system that is good for people and good for the planet.

We want to increase public awareness of food issues and encouraging widespread participation in food-related activity. We do this by delivering a number of food-related programmes across Northern Ireland – including our Good Food for All Volunteer Programme.

The volunteer programme has been build on the sucess of the previous Peas Please Veg Advocate programme. Peas Please was one of our nation wide projects that successfully increased a massive 1.1 billion extra portions of vegetables served or sold since 2019 across the four nations. The Peas Please initiative set out with a clear mission: to make it easier for everyone in the UK to eat more veg.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund our new volunteer programme will continue to promote healthy eating in our local community but now we have much more flexibility in what we can do and how broad our reach can be.  We would like to help our volunteers to create more hands on activities and develop your skills in promoting veg and healthy eating in your local community, while creating this lovely network of like-minded people.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please complete the online form here or contact Michelle the Nourish NI Support Officer, at michelle@nienvironmentlink.org
